Dr. Mehra’s Personal Story

Dr. Mehra has always been a champion of education and health and wellness.  As an immigrant and a woman from Afghanistan, where women historically have had no rights to an education, Dr. Mehra learned early on to value education and to be an advocate for health and wellness in women. Her goal is to empower young girls and women to understand their bodies and health from an early age and have access to a specialist who cares about them the way their own family does. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children age 14 and 16. She is a soccer and dance mom for her children and enjoys traveling and trying new foods. She loves to learn about new cultures and loves to learn from her patients.

Extensive and Broad Experience

Prior to launching her practice, she served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center in DC and subsequently as Medical Director of Pediatric Endocrinology at Pediatric Specialists of Virginia. She also has experience working as a Medical Officer at the Food and Drug Administration and serving as a consultant at 2ndMD to provide second opinion services to patients with Pediatric Endocrine concerns across the United States.
